ROSS ROWING CLUB SAFETY NOTICE


Please note the following:-

1 OUTINGS IN FOG OR MIST
Boats should not be on the water if you are unable to
see the outline of the dual carriageway bridge

2 OUTINGS IN FOG/MIST OR FAILING LIGHT
It is requested that the bow person of each boat wears
a reflective jacket.
3 sets of reflective jackets are hanging by the lifejackets

3 OUTINGS WHEN WATER LEVEL IS HIGH
Boats must not be launched if the water level is above
the fourth step from the top.
Or if visible amounts of debris are present

4 OUTINGS WHEN WATER LEVEL IS LOW
When the water is below the second step from the bottom
boats must not go upstream further than the telephone wires at the top of the regatta straight.

5 DOWNSTREAM LIMIT FOR JUNIORS
In the interests of safety Juniors shall never go downstream beyond the CLUB STEPS

6 UPSTREAM LIMIT FOR ALL
Extract from our Constitution By Laws:
No boats may be taken below the Wilton Bridge or through Backney Bridge without the prior permission of the Captain who may, at certain times, impose other limits.

Rowers are asked to exercise caution at all times
Remember that accidents can happen at any time and each individual is
responsible for their own actions.
