Ian Howell Steps Down from Juniors

A couple of changes to the Junior coaching team to let you know about: Ian Howell has, after many years of committed service to the juniors as a coach, decided to look at other coaching opportunities and will no longer be coaching at junior sessions. He will be sorely missed for the enthusiasm and boundless energy he has brought over the years.
On the plus side, Chris Jones has decided to join us again after an absence of a couple of years. Chris has a wealth of coaching experience gained over many years and was himself a top-drawer oarsman as a younger man, competing at a very high level with international oarsmen. Chris will be a very welcome addition to the excellent coaching team we have supporting junior rowing at Ross RC.
Finally, here are the crews for Evesham Junior Head (15 October) and Henley Long Distance Sculls (5 November)

Ouse Marathon MacmillanTarget

Following a windy row in a double at the Great Ouse Marathon earlier this month, Sarah Sykes and Nicky Wild have raised £1034.96 for the Macmillan Cancer Support Charity.

It is a service close to the hearts of Annie Williams, Alison Barker and Nicky Wild who during their time competing as a four with Sarah Sykes, over a two year period,  all lost their mothers to cancer.

Sarah and Nicky would like to thank friends and members of the Rowing club for their support and sponsorship. Sarah said, ” We have been amazed at the amount of money we have made. It exceeds our £250 target fourfold…!”

Where is this? We didn’t go this Year….

Bryn’s Warm up….

Who is Jack Wesley’s Rugby Mate?

Jack was at a Charity event in London this week. He made a new friend….
Better flanker than Jim or Jack?

Acorns 10K Run Great Success

Taking place at the Rowing club, in our back field and across Paul Scudamore’s land….a great setting by the river. There was a record turn out in all the events at a very successful sixth Walford Timber Ross 10K + Fun Run on Sunday September 4th. the event is arranged to raise funds for Acorns Children’s Hospice charity, and the large turn out meant over £3000 was raised on the day.

Thank you for the positive feedback about the Regatta Newsletter and the people included. I got round the site and had the opportunity to talk to and meet so many club members, umpires and supporters.  You enjoyed the photographs; also, you might have been in one!
The Editor on the Riverbank can only report what you tell her; something to say? Got any good pictures? The standard of information has been outstanding – Keep it coming…
