Ross Rowing Club (RRC) invites applications for the role of Camping Warden at our picturesque riverside campsite in Ross-on-Wye.

About Us:
Ross Rowing Club is nestled along the River Wye, offering a tranquil environment to enjoy the river, the Wye Valley, and the nearby town centre. Our 12-acre site features secure camping areas, accommodating RVs, mobile homes, campervans, and caravans (note: no hardstanding pitches or electric hook-ups). We also have a canoe launch for paddling enthusiasts.

For the successful candidate, this role provides the opportunity to live on-site during the camping season (22 March – 31 October) and enjoy the natural beauty of the area during downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Operations:

  • Unlocking and locking the campsite.
  • Managing and cross-checking bookings.
  • Occasionally handling out-of-hours booking enquiries.
  • Monitoring campsite facilities, including ablution and shower blocks.
  • Liaising with maintenance and cleaning staff to ensure high standards.

Customer Service:

  • Greeting campers and sharing essential safety information (e.g., fire assembly points).
  • Providing visitors with local recommendations and information.
  • Acting as the main point of communication with the Camping Coordinator.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong communication skills to interact with campers, staff, and Ross Rowing Club members.
  • Proficiency in managing spreadsheets for booking and administrative purposes.

Additional Information:
The successful candidate will have the option to reside on-site in their own campervan during the camping season. It is essential that the campervan is well-maintained, roadworthy, and complies with the bridge weight limit.
