Ross Rowing Club (RRC) invites applications for the role of Camping Warden at our picturesque riverside campsite in Ross-on-Wye.

About Us:
Ross Rowing Club is nestled along the River Wye, offering a tranquil environment to enjoy the river, the Wye Valley, and the nearby town centre. Our 12-acre site features secure camping areas, accommodating RVs, mobile homes, campervans, and caravans (note: no hardstanding pitches or electric hook-ups). We also have a canoe launch for paddling enthusiasts.

For the successful candidate, this role provides the opportunity to live on-site during the camping season (22 March – 30 Sept) and enjoy the natural beauty of the area during downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Duties

Overseeing the day-to-day administrative operations of the campsite e.g. campsite security, monitoring emails and processing online and telephone bookings, managing campers enquiries, and out of hours emergencies. Inspecting and maintaining facilities, upkeep of camping pitches, cleaning ablution and shower blocks.

Communication

Monitoring and responding to enquiries, emails and telephone calls. ‘Meeting and greeting’ campers, and being main on-site point of contact, providing them with important information e.g. fire assembly, safety points and emergency action, information on the local area. The Camping Warden is overseen by, and is answerable to the Camping Coordinator, Ross Rowing Club.

Required Skills

Excellent interpersonal communication skills with campers, visitors and RRC members. Proficient technical skills for emails, apps and online booking systems.

Practical skills, and ability to carry out basic maintenance tasks is of benefit.

Additional Notes

There is capacity for the successful candidate to reside within the camping area in their own campervan on the prerequisite that their camper is well maintained, roadworthy and is within the bridge weight limit.
