Presidents Lunch 

Members, guests and sponsors are welcome at the Presidents Lunch on Bank Holiday Monday. 

Despite the regatta being cancelled we have a wonderful setting and fabulous new club house for people to enjoy. 

Who gives a ****?

Oh yes… In short order we will no longer be caught short!

The super sexy new sewage system is on its way. 

Torsten says it will be commissioned this week. Car Park will remain open.

Thursday – Hollywood Bollywood Curry & Film night

Over Christmas 2018, six rowers from Ross Rowing Club, including DoR, Jack Westley and News Ed, Sally Pettipher, travelled to Calcutta to do charity work with street children. They taught rugby and rowing, provided medical support, and helped give a nutritious lunch to 1200 children every day, including Christmas Day. 

In the years that followed some of these kids grew up and travelled to the UK, where they came to row at RRC with us. Some of you will remember them. 

Since then, the story of the “rugby kids of India” has been made into a Hollywood movie, titled “Jungle Cry”

On Thursday, at the club, there will be a showing of the film, and curry will be available. Watch out for a notice on Spond. Be good to know numbers for catering in advance. 

Saris, Indian shirts and pants, hennaed hands, all welcome. 

There will be a charge for curry which will be sent to the project in Calcutta as a donation to feed and educate more kids.

Penarth Regatta Sat 3rd Sept  

One of my absolute favourites! Race on the sea swell in stable boats. It’s fantastic fun. Limited entries, please talk to your Captains if interested.

The Great Ouse Marathon Sun 4th Sept  

Eleven Ross rowers entered, and training hard in preparation for this 21.5km course on the flats of East Anglia. If the wind blows, pray that its a tailwind

2022 World Rowing Masters Regatta Weds 7th – 11th Sept

Sheron Dean-Lucas will be competing with Monmouth at the Masters Worlds in  Libourne, France. Best of luck Sheron!

Worcester Regatta Sat 10th Sept

Last sprint regatta of the season. Hoping for good water and good cheer.
